"It's hard to describe how I feel. 1. The room was indeed small, and so was the balcony. I mistakenly thought I had booked a smaller room type, but after confirming with Trip.com, it turned out I had booked the larger one. 2. I was very busy with my business trip and didn't experience much service. One morning, I woke up to find my door ajar, which was a bit surprising. However, since I didn't have any valuables with me during the trip, I just chatted with the front desk lady, explained the situation, and hoped they would take it seriously. But when I asked in the afternoon, she said she hadn't looked into it yet, and when I asked in the evening, she said she had checked. Nothing came of it. This was quite bizarre; I had to keep pressing them to get the issue resolved. Honestly, there should be an alarm for an ajar door, or the door should have a spring to ensure it closes and locks properly, but unfortunately, neither was the case. 3. Then, when it came to getting the invoice, the front desk lady finally seemed interested in asking about my stay, probably hoping for a good review, and became quite proactive. It feels too formalistic, lacking attention to detail, and overly profit-driven, which left me feeling quite dissatisfied."

"Opting for the Grand Hyatt Beijing for my trip to Beijing this time, the experience far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is centrally located on Chang'an Avenue, directly connected to Oriental Plaza downstairs, within walking distance to Wangfujing, and offers incredibly convenient access to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The lobby is grand and impressive, with tasteful Chinese design details. The guest rooms are clean and tidy, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with expansive views. From the higher floors, you can overlook the cityscapes of Chang'an Avenue. The soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a peaceful stay even amidst the bustling city. The bedding is soft and comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. Amy at the front desk was warm, attentive, and very efficient with check-in and check-out. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of choices, including both Western dishes and authentic Beijing local snacks. The hotel's heated swimming pool has a wonderful environment, and the overall service is meticulous and thoughtful. It's perfectly suitable for both leisure and business travelers. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Beijing."

"Mingzhu Hotel is worth my good review, and also worth some suggestions. I. The Good: 1. The room was incredibly spacious. I booked a twin room, and at a price of 300+ yuan, I felt it offered excellent value for money. For that alone, I'd choose to stay here again (see Picture 1). 2. The airport shuttle service is very punctual, departing every 15 and 45 minutes for pick-ups, and at 00 and 30 minutes for drop-offs. It takes about 10 minutes from the airport and only three or four minutes for drop-offs, which is incredibly convenient. II. Suggestions: 1. Dining: I saw a "Surf, Turf, and Air" set meal on the table (see Picture 2), and it looked very appealing. The price, 58 yuan, was also reasonable, so I ordered it before leaving at noon. When I called to order, I asked them to expedite it as much as possible because I had a flight to catch, and also requested an extra set of cutlery as a small child would be eating with me. They initially said it would take at least half an hour, but five minutes after I hung up, it was delivered. It arrived quite quickly, and I was initially touched, thinking they had really rushed it for me. However, when I opened the container and saw the dish, I was stunned. Besides the greens, everything else was stir-fried with chili peppers (see Picture 3). Not only was it not as advertised, but the taste was truly indescribable. The clams were full of sand, and the soup was particularly sour (see Picture 4). For that price, I might as well have ordered a McDonald's combo. When I received it, I asked a staff member about it, and she said I should have specified "no chili" when ordering. I was a bit speechless, as their promotional picture had no chili peppers at all, nor did it indicate whether it was spicy or not. Moreover, I had mentioned a small child would be eating, so shouldn't the person taking the order have proactively asked if we wanted it non-spicy? In the end, I had to order a McDonald's burger for my daughter to eat at the airport, while I ate my rice with the pickled vegetables provided... 2. Value-added services: I had an apple I wanted to eat but didn't want to take with me, so I asked the hotel to borrow a fruit knife. They did provide a fruit knife, but it was a personal one belonging to an employee. That's fine, but the problem was that the blade was rusty, covered in rust spots. Helpless, I ended up taking the apple back to Shenzhen with me 😢. If they don't have one, they should just say so. If they do, I suggest the hotel prepares a usable one... lending something like that makes it even worse... 3. The phone connection was intermittent. Initially, I tried calling several times without success. I had to unplug and replug the phone line a few times before I could make a call..."

"Very charming boutique style hotel located within narrow old Beijing style alleyway right next to a police station. Hotel is 10 mins walking distance from Beijing railway station, shops and restaurants. 15 mins drive to downtown (Wangfujin area). Check-in/out process was easy, staff are friendly. No elevators, staircase to 2-3 floors but porter helps with luggage (free of charge), free late night snacks (10-11pm) and complimentary drinks and coffee provided at reception. Good selection of food at buffet breakfast. The whole building is full of photos and histories of past owners (Edgar Snow and wife). Rooms are comfortable but can use some updating. Many expatriates are seen lounging in the courtyard at all times of the day. Location is easy to find but alleyway is very narrow for incoming cars (not designed for 2 way traffic). Taxi/Didi may have a hard time getting in/out so best to hail rides on main street which is a short distance away."

Spacious, clean, and well-maintained rooms. But the real highlight is the lobby… It feels more like a library café than a hotel.
