"The guy at the front desk was very nice. There was an ice cream shop and various snack bars right at the door. It was a 5-minute walk to the beach. Split is so small that everything is within easy walking distance!"

"Pro - very close to the Golden Gate and is easy to find. Check in is straightforward. The room is on the first floor above ground so it wasn't the most difficult thing to lift our luggages up. Con - (1) the actual room looks nothing like the pictures online. The online pictures (taken with wide lens mode) show the room to be much larger and brighter, whereas the room is in fact very small and relatively poorly lit. For one, the bed is literally two footsteps away from the door, and we were struggling to find space to open our luggages. (2) One of the beds in the room is in fact a sofa bed, but the property did not declare this when we booked. We spent a lot of time trying to book places which do not use sofa beds but actual beds, and so we can't help but feel that we were misled and misrepresented to. (3) There is a bit of noise. The property is right next to the road and near a pub with some rowdy youths at times. (4) Facilities are minimal. There is only one chair, and the table is very small. Everything else is basic. Nothing luxurious about it despite its name and the photos. (5) There is no lift at the property. We would not have chosen this property if we had a second chance."

Apartments Aspalathos

"A key safe here too. Because we were later than agreed. They have 4-5 rooms. Room 4 has a hotplate, desk, and sofa, but a childishly high bed; at 1.85 meters, we barely fit in. In terms of furnishings, given the price of €136 per night and photos of (what turned out to be) the other rooms, I had expected a large, spacious luxury room. That was a huge disappointment. Usually, the rooms cost €70 per night including breakfast. This would then be a normal price. We were simply fooled based on the photos. Unfortunately, that is why there is no positive review. Although I do think that for €70 per night, I would have liked to present this apartment better. The question is, if you want to book, which room do you get? If in doubt about the room or the price, just don't do it."
