"The hotel is very conveniently located: close to the old town and the beach, and a five-minute walk from a large supermarket. The train station is a 20-minute walk away. Although the common areas of the hotel need renovation, my room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. I felt very comfortable."

"This hotel is totally fine. The staff is lovely and the beach is fabulous. The hotel has its own private beach (but you need to have your own towel?) The room is nice and spacious but I’d love it to be a bit cooler. It’s okay, but I like it colder. The bed is definitely meh. Drink some wine. The town center isn’t the cleanest either but the hotel and beach are very clean . And It doesn’t feel like a tourist trap. We were told many Italians vacation here and we believe it as we haven’t found many non Italians here at all."

"What can I say? This hotel checked off all the boxes that a hotel should check off. Comfortable bed, hot shower, beautiful terrazza with the most sensational vista of il mare. Incredible Italian breakfast with the most delicious caffè macchiato to start the day in such a special zona of italia. Mimmo, Graziana, and the entire squadra showed nothing but exceptional hospitality and care during our one night stay. Plus, you’re right across the street from the beach. And it’s the most divine you’ve ever swam in. So clear. So clean. So blue. Truly exceptional. Book this hotel!"

"We are a Canadian couple who travelled to Puglia and Calabria in September. We were so fortunate to stay at the BandB Torre Talao in the picturesque town of Scalea for five days. Our host, Vittorio runs a superb BandB. Vittorio is very knowledgeable about his home town Scalea and the surrounding area. Most importantly he is a delightful person and we enjoyed lots of chats over breakfast, which was made to order. Bacon and Eggs and the best cappuccino. The recently renovated accommodation is elegantly appointed, spacious and spotless. The balcony gives you a view of the sea and the beach. A perfect spot for a glass of wine. We enjoyed walking in the old town and climbing up to the church on top of the hill. A walk through history. Vittorio arranged for us to have a private tour to Maratera and other picturesque towns along the coast. If possible we suggest taking this tour with Gian Paola Presta. This location was a highlight of our trip and suggest travellers consider Scalea and the BandB Torre Talao."
