"The hotel is located in a serene area of Ikeja Lagos and is very accessible to public transport. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well cleaned and tidied. The food is a Chinese buffet type which is good. We paid for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only slight downside is that there aren't many food options to choose from especially at the breakfast, there wasn't coffee nor tea except green tea. There was neither a complementary tea or coffee in the room until we requested for it but came without any milk which is another downside. Amongst other positives, the hotel arranged for and paid for our transport back to the airport. The driver came early and waited for us as well so that we were not late for our flight. This is a 5 Star gesture especially for customers who are not living locally. Overall, I'll rate the hotel service 4.5 ⭐ out of 5. We'll definitely use their services again when next we're visiting Lagos."

"For this price, a hotel with three meals a day included is incredibly good value! I booked it because it's a Chinese-owned hotel, run by a Sichuanese owner, and the chef is also from Sichuan—the Sichuan cuisine was delicious! The room was also clean and hygienic; although not very big, it was very comfortable and clean—hygiene is the most important thing—and the bedding was comfortable too! Very satisfied!"

"I went in to this hotel upon strong recommendation from a friend, I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in. I stayed in the Royal Suite which was everything I expected and more. The staff were very friendly, professional and courteous. The entire hotel is very clean, the rooms nicely appointed and the decor very fitting. The gym met my workout needs. The breakfast options are somewhat limited, but one could always find something to eat from the buffet. The restaurant serves very good food for lunch and dinner, my guests and I enjoyed all the food we ordered. The TV channels definitely need to be clearer and finally the hotel needs to do away with the cheap toilet papers in the toilets/bathrooms. These are the reasons for not getting 5 points. I will definitely return to the hotel anytime I am back in Lagos"

"I arrived and the hotel was in a market in Surulere, not in Ikeja as Said on the Trip.com. The hotel had no shower, I was offered a bucket to shower. No warm water for shower I was on the fourth floor with no lift. The location was really bad. I slept one night and checked out the next morning even though I paid for three nights."

"I had a very pleasant stay at Shoregate. The reception staff were warm, respectful, and attentive to my time. The room was clean, neatly arranged, and comfortably cooled with proper air conditioning. The bathroom was bright, spotless, and had good water pressure in the shower. While the bed was softer than I prefer and the television screen had visible lines, these were minor issues compared to the overall experience. I would gladly return."

"The place is beautiful but I didn’t sleep all night because the room had highly air conditioned on 6*degrees cold and no warm blankets I turned off all lights using key card but the room was still very cold I got too sick and cold but I didn’t want to complain I just walked away other than that the place is beautiful and friendly staff"

"Me and my sister spend 11 days in this hotel. Very friendly staff. Good service and the manager try to make his guest feel comfortable. 24/7 Air-condition and electricity. Very close to all you want. The only thing I don't like is the bedspread. Lots of stains in it. They need to be replaced and the bathroom needs maintainace and every corner of the room need to be cleaned. The estate is very friendly I recommend it."

"Restaurant - Breakfast for the 1st week was poorly presented and plates was not properly cleaned. There were also delay in order fulfilment. Noise - This is a very noisy hotel especially in the evenings from Thursday till Sunday. The bar does not care about the guests. The table tennis court is not also regulated, there were people playing and shouting up until 3am some nights. Housekeeping - I experienced 2 housekeepers, one does average cleaning while the other young man Micheal is very dutiful and does excellent job. Staff service - average customer care, lots of improvement needed. Security - Good, no issues with them. Hotel environment - smelly gutter in front of the hotel which breeds mosquitoes and foul odour."
