"This is a pretty basic hotel, as one would expect for the price. But the location is very decent, not far at all from the old city, facing the river, and surrounded by bbq restaurants. Check in was pretty easy, which is not always a given when you're a foreigner staying at a cheap hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I have to mark it down for the large stain on the bedroom wall, however. And the windows are very thin. My room backed on to a square with people playing games and chatting from the early hours of the morning, and there was no relief from the sound. My bathroom also had an odd corridor to nowhere. Not a complaint, just a little odd!"

The service was attentive, the location was convenient, and it offered excellent value for money. Definitely worth returning!"

"I was very satisfied with my stay. The room was exquisite and elegant. The staff were warm and attentive. Breakfast was plentiful, but it gets very crowded, so be mindful of the timing when you go. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient to get anywhere. It's in a very central part of Datong. They even upgraded our room, and my child had a great time playing in the large bathtub. The Fenglin Pavilion on the first floor was incredibly convenient, saving us a lot of waiting time."

"Extremely satisfied! Every day, drinks, teas, coffee capsules are replenished, and the room is cleaned meticulously. The mattress is also super comfortable. The staff are very polite and always greet you. They provide L'Occitane toiletries, which, while not super expensive, show attention to detail and elevate the experience. The breakfast is lavish and starts at 7 AM; I recommend going early as it can get crowded. The restaurant downstairs is delicious, affordable, and no waiting in line – fantastic!"

The room facilities are very comprehensive, and the breakfast is also quite unique, featuring local Datong snacks. My favorites were the lamb offal soup with vermicelli and the Shanxi sliced noodles! Delicious!"

"The location is excellent, not far from Datong Ancient City, and it perfectly blends the charm of Yuhe River with the lively atmosphere of the surrounding neighborhoods. The hotel is relatively new, so the facilities are very modern, and the room amenities are comprehensive. There's also plenty of free parking. The hotel service is attentive and thoughtful. Sun Han at the front desk was particularly proactive and enthusiastic; she showed me the room before check-in and even sent over a Datong travel guide she personally compiled. It was a fantastic experience!"

"Good location in the middle of Datong Ancient City. Walking distance to major attractions such as 代王府 and 九龙壁. Convenient to find food. Quite quiet although along the Main Street. Just that the housekeeping is not very thorough and clean. Very simple breakfast and taste."

It's a full set, quite a significant investment, real rosewood – likely African padauk. It's located in the ancient city, offering a quiet retreat from the bustle, and the transportation is convenient. You can step right out and explore the city walls; I even took a few sunset photos."

"Every time I visit Datong, I choose to stay here. I mean, if it's good enough for central government leaders visiting Datong, how bad could it be? The rooms at Datong Hotel aren't huge and the facilities are a bit old, but staying here feels open and comfortable. This might be due to the thick walls and simple design of the older building, which means less mutual interference and a very quiet night's sleep. Just a couple of suggestions: could the fountain in the courtyard be turned off earlier in the evening, and could the music from the speakers in the courtyard be a bit softer? I chose this hotel for its peace and quiet, so it feels unnecessary and counterproductive for the hotel to create noise."

The guesthouse is only 200 meters from the train station, and the private rooms are very affordable at 30 yuan. The only downside is that there are many locals who smoke, which might be unpleasant for non-smokers."

"Overall, it was decent. There's no actual door to the room, just an open common area and private lockers. The room is separated from the hallway by a curtain, so it can get a bit noisy with any sounds from the corridor. The heating in the room was extremely strong, almost suffocating, to the point where I couldn't sleep well and had to go downstairs for some fresh air in the middle of the night. Some of the shower facilities weren't great, and there was nowhere to put my toiletries."
