"A small room, but sufficient if you're only there for an overnight stay. The breakfast buffet was delicious and extensive. The staff was very friendly. Great location!"

"We booked 3 nights at this hotel and I was a bit apprehensive having read previous reviews but what a wonderful, positive surprise. We were picked up at the train station by the hotel courtesy service. Greeted by the reception staff and offered a welcome Prosecco or soft drink and snack. The room with large balcony overlooking the spectacular scenery was very nice indeed, including outdoor futniture. The room was spacious, extremely clean, modern, very comfortable bed, little bouquet of fresh flowers, selection of fresh fruits and sweets. A kettle was provided on request. Bathroom was large with all amenities. Breakfast was super with selection of fresh fruits, yoghurts, muesli, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, salmon, eggs, pastries and more. We had dinner in the hotel two nights (because the first night was so good) and the choice as well as the food was excellent. Compliments to the chef and his team. The gardens are beautifully maintained with sun loungers dotted around as well as around the pool area also with magnificent view. There is a very pretty pergola with outdoor seating where you can enjoy food or drinks overlooking the pool and wonderful scenery beyond. I paid particular attention to the staff due to previous reviews and found them somewhat surly although helpful and professional. However, we did get a bright smiley good morning from a guy who hoovering the corrider which compensated nicely. Also the lady who greeted us at breakfast and dinner was very friendly and chatty (I think she is a member of the family who owns the hotel) which I think is a nice touch. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk down to Ascona centre and lake, probably a 15 minutes steep walk back up which we enjoyed as a form of exercise. The hotel provides a courtesy shuttle service on request also to and from Locarno train station We have visited this hotel a few times over the years and it just gets better and better. Well done team Ascona! We are already looking forward to the next visit and highly recommend it. A few more smiles from the staff, a show of friendliness and it would be perfect."

"Hotel is located in very good location. Little hotel with careful staff. Breakfast was very good with a nice garden restaurant. Rooms without air conditioning, which can be rather a little pushing in summer. For that, clean and the rooms size is ok. Ideal to spend a few days in the Swiss sunstube."

"The Jazz Hotel is a cheaply furnished hotel in a central location in Ascona. The rooms are cheaply furnished and soundproof. We booked through a reputable booking platform. For a full week's stay, we were given the worst and noisiest room in the hotel, right next to reception with loud music and opposite the breakfast room and a freely accessible coffee machine. This meant no sleeping in and no privacy. We therefore asked for a quieter room. For an additional charge of CHF 250 (!), we were able to move into the same cheaply furnished, small room on a different floor. I'm unclear as to why we were charged this extra fee; it was supposedly an upgrade. The bathroom is old and very small, so you often end up hitting yourself. The shower was very small and calcified. The breakfast room has the ambiance of a train station waiting room. The breakfast is straightforward and always the same, served carelessly with lots of ready-made products. There wasn't fresh bread, rolls, or croissants every day, and stale sausage, cheese, and Bircher muesli were offered every day. Conversation in the breakfast room was almost impossible due to the noisy refrigerated counter. This was by far the worst place I've ever spent my time in, and the price was definitely not cheap. Never again."

"Firstly and most importantly, extremely kind and helpful staff. Very clean. Everything is of good quality (faucets, mattresses, etc.). High-quality ingredients (cheeses, vegetables, cold cuts, etc.) in breakfast. Only boiled eggs, though. Coffee does not stand up to the standard of other ingredients. Location OK - on one hand, still a bit further from the lake but not too far, on the other hand, this contributes to quiet surroundings."

"I stayed at the Parkhotel in July with my husband and 9 year old daughter. It was lovely! The pictures do not do it justice - the hotel is so much better in person. The grounds are just immaculate with stunning views and plenty of space to explore. We stayed in one of the apartments - which was modern, clean and lovely. All of the room options are very close to the main lobby/pool area. Breakfast buffet was great and pool so nice. Although in the summer we did need to get down early to grab pool chairs before they were all taken. The front desk was friendly but somewhat limited in being able to suggest good restaurants in town. My only complaint is the restaurant and bar staff tended to always come across stressed and rude. Maybe it was because we were American (although we used our limited German) but the service was definitely not as friendly for what I'd expect in a hotel of this caliber. The pool/snack bar was certainly overwhelmed during the peak days and seating was limited and service hard to get - so may have just been a staffing issue. BUT everything else was so lovely we would definitely stay again. The property is worth it."

"I really enjoyed my entire stay from arrival to departure. Although the hotel was partially renovated, I didn't miss anything and I really enjoyed learning how sustainability is practiced in the hotel. The art butler with Maddalena Mora was an absolute highlight and I will definitely come back so that I can also do the outdoor butler activities with Cyril Oehrli. The hotel is an experience and the offers and staff are top notch. Many thanks to the entire team at the Hotel Eden Roc."
