"I don't generally write reviews, but on this occasion, I will make an exception. The hotel is in a perfect position for the beach bars and restaurants, although we did not eat in the restaurants as the meals in the hotel were very good. The rooms are comfortable with a sea view balcony , there were plenty of sunbeds, a nice pool and bar area. But the best thing about the hotel are the staff who are always cheerful and friendly, which gives a totally relaxed atmosphere and completely stressless environment. After saying in reception as we left that we rarely revist a hotel I have to admit that we have just booked to return next year"

Hotel Riu Palace Calypso - Adults Only ★★★★

"I had a lovely stay at the Riu Palace overall. The location is perfect, and the hotel itself is beautiful. However, compared to other Riu Palace hotels I have stayed in, this one lacks the same level of attention to detail. The biggest disappointment was the service. There was very little warmth from the staff, with no simple greetings such as "hola," which made the atmosphere feel less welcoming than expected. Rebeca at the pool bar was particularly rude and unfriendly during my lunch, making me feel very unwelcome. At dinner, drinks were often placed on the table abruptly, as though serving us was an inconvenience. I was allocated a disabled-access room. While the room itself was lovely, I did not require an accessible room. In addition, the corridor outside the room appeared rather scruffy and lacked the standard of presentation I would expect from a newly refurbished hotel. Unfortunately, during the final two nights of my stay, I had HUGE cockroaches enter the room, which I believe were coming through the shower drains. I reported this to reception, but no action appeared to be taken, which was disappointing. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the excellent location and the hotel itself. However, the service and overall attention to detail fall short of the high standards I have come to expect from the Riu Palace brand and would benefit from improvement."

"The hotel is ideally located, in the south of the island of Fuerteventura, close to the fine sand beaches and the resort is lively. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily, but the quality of cleaning differs depending on who does it. The food is not to be recommended, there is a lot of it, but it has no taste and is not of good quality. The staff is kind and open to solve any problem. Average price-quality ratio, compared to the services, but does not justify the 4 stars."

"The room is very noisy, we asked for a garden view and was given a room overlooking a busy road with cars and lorries going past all through the night beeping their horns, The windows are not adequate to stop the noise only stayed here one night and haven't had any sleep, Asked for help at reception, they offered us a move for €50 a night, the customer service is absolutely terrible, think twice before booking especially if you ask for a garden view."

"We stayed for 3 nights and had a great overall experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is absolutely unbeatable – everything you need is right around the corner, from supermarkets and shops to plenty of restaurants. The apartment had a well-equipped kitchen, which made things super convenient. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, and the biggest downside for us was the lack of climate control – the rooms got quite hot at night. Aside from that, it’s a comfortable place to stay in a fantastic location."
