"Lack of cleanliness"

"The card reader no longer works. You have to guess that check-in is at the hotel next door, or look for the sign hidden under the stairs. The fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night, but no one comes to check what's happening. Luckily, it turns itself off after 5 minutes if it's a false alarm. Otherwise, the room is very clean and adequate for one night."

"Easy to find and convenient for the centre. The room was clean and nicely decorated. In all honesty it didn’t feel like a safe environment around the hotel but we cruelly had no problems at all. Wasn’t sure if there hotel was housing any immigrants as a food bank pulled up distributing food and water. Prob my wouldn’t return here."

"Very poor experience. No staff, rooms worn out, breakfast due to layout of food, coffee machine became something you best not bother with. Drinks prices at the bar dependant on who served you. Evening dinner, one choice and this menu not available until 5.30pm . We booked here with friends for a 3 day event and will be back in Laon next year but definitely not this hotel."

"We booked a family room and also booking for a small dog and car parking. When we arrived the manager insisted that we didn’t have a booking for the dog despite showing him the confirmation on our phone for the room, dog and car parking. He insisted that we should have rung the hotel before to confirm the dog booking. However he did say he had a room we could have if we paid extra. When I complained and said the booking was made online and accepted by the hotel as we had proof on our phone he took back the actual key he had given us and told us we could no longer have the room that could accommodate dog. My son then said that he and the dog would sleep in the car. The manager then had second thoughts and said we could have the room after all. The garage was adjacent to the hotel but was not ideal as the entrance was so narrow you had to put your side lights in or you would lose them, i wouldn’t like to attempt to park more than a medium sized car there. There was only room for 4 cars however it would be a struggle to manoeuvre at maximum capacity as it was through a small courtyard with parking beyond that. There was only our car and some motorcycles when we were there and it was a struggle. The mattress and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable to top it off. Thank goodness we only needed a night there on route elsewhere. When we asked to go back to the garage once the manager had locked it he was less than forthcoming in his demeanour and made comments about the need for him to turn off the alarm. When my son asked his dad for his phone so he could turn on the torchlight as the car park was dark in the daytime and it was evening and dark outside, the manager said to my son this is France not the desert. The irony was that the manager said he spoke 7 languages and had a qualification in hospitality."

"Well located next to the train station. Check in time a little weird at 4pm but is fine if you arrive late in town. The attractions are all on top of the hill about 20 mins walk from the hotel. The staffs are very friendly. Rooms are well allocated and size is alright."

"Excellent stay here. Mathieu was so kind and accommodating. The hotel is full of character and the quadruple family room was excellent. Great location and the breakfast offers great value. Would recommend without hesitation."
