"Stay for three nights. The hotel is heritage not recommended for a person who is afraid things stay alone. The location is perfect at the front gate of the temple of tooth relics. However, one male GSA do not respond well as I told him that the telephine is broken, the fridge inside is very hot and the light in the toilet is broken so many times. Until I checked out the telephine is still broken, the fridge inside is still very hot. But the light is fixed by an electrician who was recommended by male maid not GSA."

"Very nice stay. Staff were great. Breakfast and dinner included, which I enjoyed. I think this is worth it if you can get a deal via one of the booking sites, it's quite pricey compared to other more conveniently situated properties in Kandy. It's a very unique boutique hotel, beautiful and comfortable with great service. The only gripe I would have is the shower...it's a small hot water tank, so you can have a max 10 minute shower before the water runs cold. You then have to wait 10mins before the water heater heats the water back up. Other reviews complain about the noise from the road and rail track, but we didn't hear a single train during our 2 night stay and the road didn't bother us at all."

"Another fantastic stay in the best hotel in Kandy. This hotel is very beautiful and has the best pool in Sri Lanka! From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel like a VIP. The rooms are lovely, very clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms could have the bath removed and just a shower but this does not detract from the loveliness of this hotel. The food in the restaurant is excellent with good choices. One night we had Buffett and the second night a set menu. Breakfast was always buffet and if you wanted something that was not there, the staff obliged by bringing it to you. I cannot recommend all the staff highly enough but must give a shoutout to Indika and Lahiru, who both went the extra mile for our group. A sincere thank you! The only criticism I have of this property is the wifi. It was very slow. This hotel has spectacular views over the river. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Make sure you choose it for your next visit to Kandy!"

"The room is spacious, has leaving room n kitchen , modern shower and fully equipped facilities. There is a gym with a nice view as well where I spent most of my morning there The most view I love is when I swim at the pool I can see whole Kandy City from top , it’s stunning. The services and the staff are very good especially Tuan the Manager and front liner guy (sorry forgot the name) which is always there to help. Thank you for making my stay memorable. "We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was large and spacious, with both a shower and a bathtub—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The air conditioning and ceiling fan kept the room cool and comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the kettle with tea and coffee, as well as the hair dryer and iron. The food and service were excellent throughout our stay. There’s even a hot tub available although this is attached to one bedroom, so book early if that’s important to you. You will need transport into town as this was not walking distance but we were able to get a Tuk Tuk and taxis easily. WiFi was a bit intermittent at times. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable experience— we’d happily stay here again."

"We had an amazing stay in Rasika's place, and we are so glad we stayed two nights instead of 1. The family was very friendly, polite, helpful and ready to answer any questions. The room was spacious, with a very comfy bed. And the view was breathtaking. They cooked us fresh local breakfast each morning and explained the tradition of eating. It was very, very tasty. The location is perfect too, 1.5 kilometres from the city. We felt like part of the family, and you will be more than happy to come again. Thank you for your hospitality. "Thomasz Lodge is a truly beautiful property with spacious, well-planned rooms surrounded by lovely gardens. The place itself is calm, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxed getaway, but what truly made our stay exceptional were the hosts, Bertran (Berty) and Wasana, a genuinely warm and lovely couple. It’s a pity we stayed for only one night because the way the entire family welcomed us was nothing short of amazing. We were a big family group of 14, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. A special mention to Berty, who personally took care of our elderly family members by driving them up to the property, as the entrance is a bit steep, such a thoughtful and kind gesture that we truly appreciated. Their daughters were equally helpful, assisting us with ordering food and groceries from outside and helping everyone settle in comfortably. Despite our late-night Christmas celebration, the hosts were incredibly gracious, they stayed up and actually joined us, making the evening even more special and memorable. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. Even though we were a bit slow and relaxed about coming down for breakfast, Wasana made sure that hot tea or coffee was promptly served every single time, always with a smile. Kudos to Wasana for keeping 14 members of a family well fed. If I had to suggest one small improvement, it would be to keep a few menus from nearby local restaurants at the property. While the kitchen facilities are excellent, sometimes guests may prefer ordering food from outside. What made our stay truly special was not just the beautiful property, but the wonderful hosts and their incredible hospitality. Thank you so much, Berty and Wasana, for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely recommend Thomasz Lodge and would love to return again."

Our huge bedroom and bathroom was very comfortable with a lovely balcony and separate seating area with great views. If you're looking for a peaceful homestay with tasty food slightly out of Kandy city centre I would definitely recommend Hanthana House."
