"A disastrous experience. My mother and I arrived late after a long day of driving and sightseeing in and around Avignon. The kitchen was open for a group but closed for us, even though we were starving. I do thank the receptionist for giving us (albeit rather unenthusiastically) a basket of bread. Feeling a bit more satisfied after eating some snacks we bought at the hotel reception, we took a shower in a filthy bathroom (hair everywhere, a strong drain smell, crumbling furniture legs...). We changed into our pajamas and were about to get into bed when we discovered stained sheets—yuck! We had already settled into our room, put on our pajamas, and were exhausted. We didn't feel like going down to reception to ask for housekeeping or a room change; we just wanted to sleep (which is why we booked a hotel room in the first place). In short, we put a blanket over the extremely stained sheet (with some unknown fluid). The next day, we complained at reception and were criticized for not having gone downstairs when we first encountered the problem. So beware if you stay at this hotel; they expect you to do the work of a housekeeper in the middle of the night in your pajamas, and on top of that, you have to pay. I later requested a refund, which was refused for the reason mentioned above, accompanied by contempt from the hotel manager. Hygiene shouldn't even be a questionable issue in a hotel. And the worst part is that I was criticized for leaving a review mentioning all these problems I experienced."

"The hotel is located in the old city, so you need to find a place to park by yourself. But the good thing is that we can easily find a location nearby every time. The hotel rooms were renovated from old houses, and the bathrooms are slightly smaller, but they are nothing compared to the charm of the old city. Sufficient for bathing use. The room has thoughtfully added heating equipment at different locations, so there is no need to worry about getting cold when traveling in winter. There is also a family-style breakfast, which is elegant and delicious. The boss is very interesting and will introduce the hotel and nearby restaurants in an interesting way. Enthusiastic and full of French humor, he is a very good person. It is usually very close to the nearby church market or the Papal Palace. We drove to Arles and Stone Town, also within an hour. It is recommended to experience the style of the medieval ancient city."

"PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS PROPERTY I stayed at this property for two nights and, unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. First, I was given a room of a lower category than the one I had booked. To make matters worse, the room had a strong unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, which made it uncomfortable to stay there. To my surprise, the room had a waterbed — something I was never informed about when booking. Sleeping on it caused severe back pain, and I eventually had to get up in the middle of the night and sleep on the floor, as it was impossible to rest properly. The view from the window was also completely different from what I booked: instead of the promised view, I had a wall right outside the window. Another important thing to note: this is not actually a hotel. It is more like an Airbnb-style family-run guesthouse, where a family owns two houses and rents out rooms. The level of service is not what you would expect from a hotel, which was very disappointing. While the family running the place is polite and friendly, any issues related to payments or disputes are handled very poorly. After we decided to leave earlier due to these problems, they refused to refund us for the three unused nights — almost €1,000 — and ignored all our follow-up emails and their responds on our calls were very rude. Later, I discovered that they resold my room for those nights, effectively charging two different guests for the same booking, which feels deeply unfair. There is also no formal reception and breakfast, and the property is located behind high gates on a very narrow street, making access inconvenient. I genuinely don’t understand how this place has so many positive reviews. While the owners are polite, the service, transparency, and fairness are far below hotel standards. Recommendation: If you decide to stay here, do not book for more than one night upfront. First, check the room, the bed type, the view, and the facilities before committing to a longer stay. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property."

"We stayed here 3 nights last summer in July. Absolutely loved everything about B&B! Both the husband and wife who owns this place, they make fresh breakfast for you, set up outside by the beautiful garden. We stayed in the pink room, very clean and overlooks the garden. Excellent service with very welcome around town info. My husband and I would love to go back and stay here."

"What a DREAMY, ELEGANT, RELAXING STAY! This was our absolute best place we stayed during our entire month traveling Europe! The minute our family arrived Brian greeted us like family. He made sure we were taken care of, gave us a tour of his breathtaking historical Bastide. The rooms were magical, tidy, clean and decor takes you away to another time. The Bastide is elegant and tastefully decorated with gorgeous antique pieces, the views from the rooms of the garden below are absolutely stunning. The garden serenades you day and night with all the singing birds. The best part was walking the garden, riding bikes around the property after dinner and relaxing pool side getting to know guests from all over the world as we sipped refreshing Rose. The staff is so warm and friendly, and always there to answer any questions day or night. Brian is just an absolute GEM and so happy to have met him-most genuine, loving, joyful soul. Furthermore, they cook the most delicious breakfasts and dinners with fresh, organic local foods. We loved not having to drive or go anywhere to dine as they cater to all. He even cooked our pescatarian son specialty dishes for for dinner. La Bastide De Bellagarde is eveything one dreams about being in France. Thanks for making us feel so very special Brian and we hope to visit soon! The Ehbrecht Family"

"This is a hidden gem of a hotel! The rooms are incredibly spacious, clean, elegant, and classically styled, with a charming little courtyard. It's a great value for money. The service is excellent; the staff can communicate in English—at least the two receptionists I spoke with had no problems. The hotel has a courtyard layout, and the receptionist will show you the rooms; otherwise, you might not have been able to find them."
