Apartamentos Avenida

Let's start with the good. Nice hot shower. Plenty of towels.Great location. Now the bad.... EVERYTHING ELSE! Started off with having to pay €100 cash deposit which we weren't expecting so we ran out of money. Cash machine charging €5 It was very old and tired. I felt like I'd walked into a prison wing which was very noisy early morning with the cleaner trollies and noisy people! The so called balcony got NO sun so washing didn't dry and it looked over a tatty building with their washing hanging out. Not even a glimpse of sky. Poorly equipped kitchen, not even a t-towel. No dressing table or drawers nor bedside tables (we used our suitcases!) The toilet was broken for the last 2 days but not repaired even though reported it twice. We had to flush with kettle water! Had we been staying longer than 4 days I would have asked to be moved. Avoid these apartments.

Perfect location, but poor rooms. Couldn't be better sited right in the centre of Benidorms' vibrant old town. However (apart from the decent breakfasts), that's where the positivity ends I'm afraid. There's an atrium that runs through the centre of the corridors that makes every little noise sound like an echo chamber. Also it gives the look of Prisoner Cell Block H! The bedroom windows back onto this atrium gantry so you hear everything. There can't be any soundproofing because the snory guy in the next room sounds like he's a diesel tractor revving up in my wardrobe! The whole place smells of ganga when you open the balcony door which has a view of nearby apartments. And finally, I've never slept (or rather hardly slept) in such a rock hard bed. I know it's a budget place, but there are far better nearby for the same price.

These apartments are closing at the end of the year, which is a shame as they seem to be winding them down already. Check in was efficient as always. Our room was on the top floor and the balcony was huge. Room was poorly appointed and in dire need of the renovation it is never now going to receive. My bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in and it had to be replaced mid-holiday. The room also contained a pillar in the middle of it which made negotiating the room quite tiresome at night. Housekeeping was at best erratic, you never knew whether you were going to be serviced or not, you would go three or four days and not have linen or towels changed or bins emptied, then you would be serviced every other day then wait days again. All-told, a very disappointing experience, looking forward to what the new owners do to the property as it is in an enviable plot in the old town of Benidorm. I will look out in interest at what it becomes. I wish all the staff well in their future pursuits as I am certain the issues with maintenance are as a result of the facility being run down.

Second time to these apartments as we like the location . Near to the beach plenty of bars restaurants and shops . Just take on board the drop off and pick up location is about a 6/7 min walk and if you aren’t sure where they are or it’s dark you might struggle finding them . The apartments are dated but are clean. But are clean and the towels and bedding changed every other day We were given a room with a limited view but after asking if we could be moved we got another room the day after with a street view .

Good location and that's it ! On checking in receptionist was on the phone looked round at us kept talking then started talking to one of the cleaners when she was finished before acknowledging us. apartment was clean enough but very small living room/kitchen area. The balcony never got any sun and faced the opposite apartments washing line the only way to tell if it was sunny was to lean over the balcony and look up. Worst of all was the small boiler for hot water,it only held 50 litres of water which was enough for one shower then you had to wait an hour for the boiler to fill and heat up again for the next person to use,when we asked reception if there was any way to resolve this issue we were told no and just to get on with it ! After a few days we eventually booked alternative accommodation.

We stayed here mid February, there were x4 adults and we were in a x2 bedroom apartment. The apartment had lots of room, and x2 bathrooms which was a huge bonus. We also had a balcony looking over the busy but picturesque. The only negative for the accommodation is that the noise from the street does start early but the benefits outweigh this. Its location is great in the old town and just 10-15 mins walk to the strip. The staff were extremely helpful, and the rooms were clean and spacious. I would not hesitate to go back but would advise if you are a light sleeper taking some earplugs. Thank you for a great stay.
