Renfe's Tarjeta Dorada offers up to 40% discounts for those aged over 60. The card costs €6 for one year, €12 for two years, and €15 for three years. You can get a 25% discount on AVE and AVE international trains. For Avant trains, discounts vary: 25% during weekdays and 40% on weekends. Renfe Children Fare
For children aged 4 to 13, Renfe provides a 40% discount on ticket prices. These children can choose seats on AVE, AVE International, and Avant trains, and can make changes or request refunds according to the ticket type, which might incur a fee. Children under four travel for free but are not permitted a reserved seat. On Cercanías trains, children under six can travel for free without a reserved seat.
Renfe Young Persons Fare
For young people aged 14 to 25, Renfe offers up to 30% off train fares with the Más Renfe Joven Card, costing €50. Valid for a year and non-transferable, this card provides a 30% discount on AVE and AVE international trains. Additionally, get a 25% discount on Avant, Cercanías, and Rodalies trains.
Renfe Spanish Large Families Fare
In Spain, Renfe provides significant fare discounts for large families: 20% for general category families and 50% for special category families. These discounts are applicable on AVE and Larga Distancia trains but do not extend to AVE International, Avant, or Cercanías routes.
