The Bahamas

This is the best hotel ice ever stayed in. Nothing g is too much trouble for fonze and chai. A lovely couple who made our stay the best. Wonderful breakfast. Everything you needed was there for our stay Spotlessly clean and very good price. Good parking . 10mins walk to the harbour and good busses to visit other towns. Well recommended and hope to go again. Thanks fonze and chai.

Stayed here for 5 nights last June and July to attend my training, I really enjoyed my stay here, special thanks to the owners for a very hospitable service, I appreciate them upgrading me to a bigger room on both of my stays. Breakfast is the best and the room is always clean. They always have a fresh milk available everyday, and complimentary water, coffee, tea and chocolate powder inside the room with kettle to fix yourself a hot drinks. highly recommended indeed.

Very good hotel with experienced owners clean with a good breakfast full English or something lighter smoked salmon with scrambled eggs in a nice quiet area the price is fair for the area other hotels charge a lot more the hotel is close too the seafront.

I booked the Bahamas late Wednesday afternoon, arrived Thursday afternoon, the landlady Fonz greeted me, she was very welcoming. She explained that as it was a late booking I would spend 2 nights in room 6, then 2 night in room 5. It wasn’t a problem for me. The room was very clean & nicely decorated. I had a lovely nights sleep & the next morning had a wonderful shower. The room had towels to use, there was also shower gel, shower cap if you needed it. You also had use of hairdryer which is in the room , you also can use the ironing board & iron which is located in the hall. The fridge has bottled water daily, you also get a cute little bottle of milk for your tea, which is also provided in the room, as is coffee & hot chocolate & some biscuits. I had breakfast the first morning, it’s pre-order which isn’t a problem, I had Bacon, Sausage, Beans, Mushroom & Toast & a pot of lovely tea. Very nice. I visited Brixham, Babbacombe,Totnes & Cockington, Kent Cavern, prehistoric caves & of course Torquay itself. Had lovely cream teas, met some lovely people. I think Babbacombe was my favourite, beautiful bays. I also went to a pub called The Wighton, lovely pub & the meal was really nice, I had Scampi, chips & garden peas. My stay has been great, the Bahamas is in a great location, located near Torre Abbey, not far from Torquay station. I would definitely stay here again.

On our last night of 7 and we don't want to go home.A very polite and friendly host Fonz, lovely lady who also upgraded us to Room 7.Massive room with all amenities including mini-fridge,hairdryer and fan.Tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits.Plenty of wardrobe/draw space including coat hangers.Large Tv on the wall as well.En-suite bathroom with instant hot water and very good shower.Room serviced every day including clean towels if needed plus bottled water and milk placed in the fridge.Never ate breakfast as we always eat oit but it smelt amazing every morning.On site parking and a 10/15 min walk to the seafront if take a shortcut through Torre Abbey.Would 100% recommend this fantastic Guest House.

Just had a 3 night stay at The Bahamas in Torquay. A lovely guest house in an excellent location 10 minute walk from the train station & 15 mins to the sea front. The hosts Fonz & Chey are lovely people and very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Very clean and quiet guest house. The breakfast was lovely. Next time we visit Torquay this is the place we will be booking. Excellent value 👍🏻
