Villa Giovanna

An incredible rustic, authentic Italian experience. Exactly what was needed after a busy week exploring Italy. The hosts are incredibly welcoming. Nothing has been too much to ask. Laura was amazing and helped us sort out a visit to the beach club for the day, she was also quick to respond and arranged a pickup from sorrento centre to the villa. All staff go above and beyond and it’s a fantastic family feel between them all. Breakfast is delicious. The pool is perfect, with the most incredible views. The gardens are lovely and the lemons taste incredible. It was a lovely touch to invite the guests for a memorable night of live music and food with with complimentary. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Beds are comfortable, aircon has been the best we’ve experienced throughout Italy.

Villa Giovanna is set in a lovely relaxed environment with fantastic views across the Gulf of Naples.The team of staff are very friendly and helpful,with nothing being too much trouble.We have stayed here numerous times and Laura has consistently provided us with a warm welcome and helpful approach.We also enjoyed the excellent breakfast served out in the garden. A big graze to the Villa Giovanna team once again,we hope to return!

What more can be said about this simply beautiful and special place in Sorrento, The welcome was warm, polite and courteous. I took a solo trip to Sorrento at the start of April and was blown away with this amazing hotel. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the breakfasts each morning were delicious and the decor of the rooms and gardens were so beautiful. The view from my hotel window was stunning and my room was cleaned to perfection every day. The hotel also provides a really useful shuttle bus that takes you in and out of town throughout the day and well into the evening. I will certainly be visiting and staying here again :) Thank you Laura and all your staff.

Hotel is situated out of Sorrento and hotel provide a minibus to collect from station on arrival and departure and as a free taxi service into town. Laura was very good in welcoming us. On arrival we thought our room was going to be situated on first floor with balcony and were disappointed to have a ground floor room with a seating area outside. Hotel did provide us a basic meal and drink on arrival at 10pm which was a kind gesture. The disappointment did go as began to understand the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel/villa. Breakfast is included and was excellent with staff cooking food if the extensive buffet didn’t’ t satisfy you. Even had some live music on one evening which was super. The views from hotel grounds are great and by the time we left, attitude of disappointment had gone and I’m happy giving 5 stars, mainly because of the kindness, helpfulness and level of interest of the staff. We went to Capri by boat (queues for tickets, then for getting on boat, then for funicular tickets, then for funicular itself ) which was worth going once but never again. Gardens of Hercules and views from there are a must. Everything seems twice price of Sorrento mainland and shops in Capri town are for the super rich. Did a trip round Amalfi coast on a minibus (just six on it) that collected and dropped at your hotel. Ravello is the nicest of the towns (not the busiest or full of tourists). Worth it for a meal overlooking the sea and knowing your driver knows were to park in each town. Views around coast are great but like Capri, its not one to do again, apart from Ravello. If you do the trip the duomos in Positiano and Amalfi are worth visiting but shops full of tourists. Food wise, Sorrento has great range of restaurants. Excellent fish restaurants in old harbour, ask at hotel for directions.

The most wonderful end to our 9 day italy journey. I have been to sorrento myself ironically staying opposite this hotel. I have to say that i preferred staying here over the 5* property opposite. Felt like home from home. Beautiful room with the most beautiful view for a ground floor. The gardens are effortlessly kept beautiful! breakfast was prepared for us on days we were out early and really the highlight of our trip was Jovanni the shuttle bus driver. He would often pick us up at midnight and take us on our early morning journey to the town. Nothing was at all too much trouble for us. Waiting at the hallway at the time we told him the night before - helping us with luggage and chatting to us about common interests. This man was worth his weight in gold and more and was such a beautiful soul. For this reason and the property in his beautiful glory we will never hesitate to return. Already looking forward to coming back! Laura on reception was kind and very welcoming, offering us a glass of prosecco on arrival. Everything was seamless and never too much effort for us. Besides the people that made the place feel like home the villa was just everything we expected and wanted from a traditional italy trip. Felt like the luxury of a hotel but the privacy of a villa. What more could you ask for! Wish we braved the pool, however we had not much time and i would not bare the cold! Perfect on our sore feet after a long walk to Positano to which the staff were even shocked by! Thank you again to all of you for such an amazing trip. I really can not wait to be back.
