City Hotel

Really nice stay. Always good service and food. Buffet for breakfast is good and the cleaning ladies are so nice they have us extra water. A very central location. Recommended!

This is the hotel I stay at every time I visit Shanghai. The location is fantastic, right next to the French Concession, with plenty of cafés and bars within walking distance. I’ve always been very happy with my stays here. I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again whenever I come back to Shanghai.

Our goal was to find the cheapest room in the French Concession that also had a pool. This place fit the bill and was a FANTASTIC value for the price. Breakfast especially impressed us, and the kids loved the pool. Be aware -- if you go to the pool swim caps will be required. Lovely surrounding neighborhood for walking, coffee, tattoos, shopping, etc...

After visiting with my family last year and loving it so much, we came back again. The staff are friendly, and there are many local restaurants and shops nearby. It’s a great hotel because it’s close to the city center, and I recommend it.

What is good about this hotel, location and the surrounding jas very convenient shops all around. A lively area. Old hotel but clean and neat. Designed for business traveler and not so Much for family, the only down side is the design of the toilet is an open space… so Theres not much privacy. Distance from the metro station, but walkable. I recommend to get ride from the station to the hotel if you’re bringing many luggage’s.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It’s a one minute walk from several cafes and restaurants, and a 15-20 minute walk from the subway. For the price, the room is also spacious and has a beautiful window view (as seen in the photos attached). It’s a little outdated and some of the furnishings are worn-out/stained from age, but it is clean and a great deal for the price. Would stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay here. The views over the city and the surrounding architecture were really nice, and the location was excellent. It's right next to a couple of lively streets with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops, but the neighbourhood still felt pleasant and safe to walk around. The pool and gym were both clean and easy to access. The gym was bigger than I expected and had everything I needed. Just remember to bring a swimming cap if you want to use the pool. Our room was a bit old-school, which gives the hotel some character, but don't expect modern furniture or a smart TV. It also wasn't the most spacious room. That said, we slept well, the bathroom was practical, and everything was clean. The staff were helpful throughout our stay, the entrance/lobby is beautiful, and the lifts are fast. Overall, a good option if you're looking for a well-located hotel with good facilities.
