Ancient Thera Studios

This is a traditional Greek hotel, and we chose the cheapest room (basement) so it was pretty small and basic. But we knew that before we travelled, and the room had everything we needed in it for a comfortable week's stay. The owners are friendly and the rooms are cleaned daily to a really high standard. The restaurant wasn't open when we were there as the resort as a whole felt like it was just getting started for the season. There isn't a pool at Ancient Thera Studios but we just went to the beach everyday as many places are happy for you to chill on their loungers as long as you buy a couple of drinks or some food. Tranquilo was our favourite spot on the beach front. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach front and the main bars/restaurants in Perissa, where there's plenty of choice for food and drinks etc. You're also in a great position to walk up the volcano to the ancient ruins and to the old church in the hillside from Ancient Thera Studios. There are several supermarkets, bakeries, bars etc within 5-10 minutes walk, and you're really close to the public bus stop which takes you to Fira with connections to Oia. The main church is nearby too and it's just as pretty. I'd happily stay here again, and would definitely recommend to anyone who's pretty low maintenance and wants to do their own thing.

Arrived at 2am after a very delayed flight, a note was on the door to wake them up to let us into our room. Room was traditional and was a great base, had a small kitchen area with sandwich maker, kettle and small hob, also a fridge. Clean sheets and pillowcases everyday along with fresh towels. Great little outside area with a table and 2 chairs. A family run business and we were made to feel part of the family. Restaurant attached served from early morning to late at night, great portion sizes and very reasonable prices. Situated a 10 minute walk from the beach, bars, restaurants & shops.

The apartment was lovely with a balcony and views of the mountain, sea and the town. Cleaned daily and had everything you could need. The family who own the property were great and couldn't so enough for us, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great, close to the beach, bars,restaurants and a couple of mini markets. We could have used a pool a few metres away but we loved the beach so stayed there when we weren't exploring. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times, both lovely meals and I'd have to say that it was my favourite moussaka of the holiday and I tried a few!!! Would definitely stay here again. Excellent accommodation, great shower, room lovely & clean, comfy bed, I was ‘room only’ but had breakfast & evening meal on a couple of occasions. Perfect location, away from the hustle and bustle. The whole family were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Perfect holiday for me. 😊

We called here for meals a few times whilst stopping in Athina Apartments just around the corner Made us feel very welcome straight away Lovely immaculate restaurant family run Food and service was first class every time The daughters were lovely and had lots of cuddles and kisses off the lovely Maria who was amazed by our nails 🥰 Thank you If we ever come back we’ll definitely visit again Lynne Colin Esther Rob xx

Amazing studios, very friendly family run business, food was exceptional all home cooked. Studio was cleaned daily, fresh bedding and towels also daily. Made to feel very welcome. No pool but was able to use next door one as long as you purchased drinks. Will definitely be back in the future highly recommend
