Hotel Las Vegas

This is a great hotel, food was good always found something to eat. Yes you do have to pay for drink at lunch/ dinner but most places do this so wasn't a bother for us. Hotel and rooms were clean and tidy. Maid in everyday. Our room was facing the back of hotel onto another hotel which was full of young holiday makers we had a few nights which were very loud going on into early hours of the morning The animation team were amazing. Rakel and david joined in with our fun and games in and around the pool. A few rules in and around the hotel, you couldnt consume your water or juice on the patio area you have to buy from the bar. Prices were reasonable, Staff were mainly friendly but a couple could be rude. Sunbeds at the pool...this is the first place we have had to que for the pool to open at 9am and get a lounger. Alot of people place towels and leave and aren't seen for hours. On occasion 1 of the lifeguards would.puy a note down then if no return within about 30 mins of that take towels away (other lifeguards didn't really bother) balls are allowed in the pool but some people sitting at edge of pool weren't happy if it splashed them. Always music on around pool area, aswell as aqua aerobics , bingo, pool and yoga. Entertainment was good something on every night

Positives: The location was fantastic! It was really close to loads of great bars and restaurants which was much needed as I’ll explain in the negatives! The entrance was very clean with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and a nice bar/reception area with great aircon. Toiletries provided in the room was a nice touch. There is a locker room that you can use if you need to shower in the event you have a late flight home and you still want to make the most of the facilities. Negatives: The rooms were all very basic, quite small with no options to upgrade other than depending on the view. The aircon in the room was not great! We asked reception to get it checked and perhaps the filter needed changing but it didn’t make much difference, we just acclimatised to the temperature TV’s were smart but not connected to the WiFi so couldn’t really use it. It became a bit redundant. The telephone in the room didn’t work and despite reporting it, it didn’t get replaced! The shower flooded and so I had to lift the grate and then clean the hair out of it but it still kept flooding! The cleaners stopped putting it back each day as we only ended up lifting it again! The towels are really basic, not soft at all. And the hairdryer is so basic you might as well just blow on your hair yourself! There is a mini fridge in the room but it is very mini, think mini bar! There are no quiet areas of the hotel as the entertainment is quite loud. There are only 2 lifts that service all so there was a fair bit of queueing required. We used the stairs a lot but not ideal if you’re old. There are sun beds around each pool but despite there being a ‘no reserve’ rule, it was never adhered to. On the last day they did put an announcement out to say not to reserve but no one actually went and moved any of the towels. The hotel do not provide towels for the pool but you can hire them! You can also hire a kettle! So let’s discuss the food. Starting with breakfast. The restaurant is a really big size but there were times where there were no seats available and the staff didn’t really care about all these people walking round to try and find a table. There were only a handful of coffee machines so the queues for these machine were always huge!! Same with the toast machines, only a few machines and all quite slow! The food itself was basic. There is a lot of choice but it was all a bit ‘meh’. We had 1 dinner at the hotel as we were half board but again, whilst it was a lot of choice, it wasn’t good quality which is why it’s such a positive that it’s close by to many really good bars and restaurants as we ate out every day! We ended up switching our half board to lunch and breakfast (note this needed 24 notice for some unknown reason) and whilst it was slightly better, it’s still quite basic and even found multiple undercooked chicken dishes! I’ll get to the good stuff last which isn’t much. So we were put in room at the back of the hotel, the room face’s onto another hotel and my god we had no sleep at all it’s a party hotel for young Spanish teenagers, they partied all night till sun rise. Although the pool area is spotless there is a distinct lack of sun beds and parasols which leads to long cues first thing in the mornings and they do say towels will be removed if no one is using the beds we didn’t see this happen. The pools seem to be a free for all with locals wandering in and using it at their own convenience. The food is terrible, low grade quality and not much choice with no taste, apparently they don’t do omelettes as I did ask and was told there’s scrambled egg over there, the restaurant staff are miserable and they stand around talking. Now the good bits the hotel is spotless, the maids do a fantastic job, it’s in a great location they just needs to up their game in the restaurant.

Really enjoyed our stay here in Hotel Las Vegas in Salou. View from the street does not do it justice, very large, modern, airy hotel. Lots of comfy areas to sit, both inside and out. NIghtly entertainment inhouse meant we didn't have to go out looking and food selection was top notch. We stayed half board and never left hungry. Safe, fridge all provided. Choice of four pools to sit around. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Any negatives were minor, primarily clothes storage - my wife had nowhere to hang her longer dresses and a wee bug of mine the plug didn't fit the bathroom sink! Overall a great place to stay in an excellent location. We hope to return at some stage - preferably not during a heatwave!

Beautiful hotel, immaculate and very friendly people. Comfortable beds. Had the best holiday here would definitely recommend. Very reasonably priced

We spent 14 nights here in June as a couple . Our room was on the first floor 145 , which was directly looking over the pool and outside entertained area .The facilities and furnishings in the public areas were of a very high standard. The food on offer at breakfast, lunch and evening , was always very well presented and with something available for everyone . Drinks at the bar are very reasonable priced and the cocktails are superb. Our room was adequate but could have done with more drawers , but plenty of hangers and a free safe , but didn't understand the shelving in the wardrobe it was only about 4 inched wide so you couldn't use it to store much at all .The rooms were cleaned every day as were the public areas , the hotel is immaculately clean . Most ofthe staff were always very helpful and curtious .However there are a few issues regarding the rules that are in place within the hotel some of which are , NO food or drink to be removed from the restaurant , I got stopped from taking half a cup of coffee out of the resturant , while I saw ,every day people making sandwiches putting cakes , fruit and other food items in their bags and walking out the restaurant with them without being stopped , if I could see them doing it I,m sure the staff could see it going on but they chose to ignore it . Another rule is , no swimwear is allowed within the reception area , we saw men walking around with swimming trunks on and no tops , daily , also women walking around with swimwear on , nothing was ever done to stop this . Reserving sunbeds is not permitted, but on a daily basis towels are placed on sunbeds while the people doing this ,either go to eat or go into the resort and come back hours later , I never saw any towels being removed by staff . We found the music being played every afternoon to be excessively loud , so loud infact that we couldnt speak to each other on our balcony and be heard , so absolutely no chance of having a cat nap between 3 and 7 ,as a lot of people do , we and other guests went to reception and told them that the music was excessively loud and could it be turned down a bit , nothing was done, infact I,m sure the lady from the animation team turned it up , and there was me thinking guest satisfaction was a priority , obviously not with the animation team. It was so hot in June as you would expect in Spain but there just wasn't enough sun parasols to go round , and I suggest in the searing heat, making more available is a priority .
