Katia Hotel

Good points lovely room comfortable bed, went half board, breakfast tepid at best, advertised by tui a la carte for lunch and dinner, not one item is al a carte,more fast food everything is with chips, bar and restaurant shut at 8 so had no choice but to eat late afternoon then it started closing earlier had no choice but to go out and eat thank god for whispers next door.

Absolutely beautiful place. Had a swim up room which was a real bonus. Spent lots of time in the pool area where the staff are so attentive and do the best cocktails! Stayed bed and breakfast, which was substantial enough. Beautiful bakery across the road and whisper’s restaurant next door which did the best steaks. Lovely comfy sunloungers on the balcony which was perfect to enjoy the afternoon sun on. Rooms cleaned daily and maids always cheerful and helpful. Hired a car for the day which was sorted by the hotel. Probably paid a bit more but it was convenient and just across the road which meant you could park there if needed. This hotel is situated on a busy road but the location is perfect. There are a few bars around and not far from the beach. Will definitely stay here again and book another swim up room. I normally holiday solo and this time I went with a friend but lots of solo people around and I would definitely stay again on my own. Apartment was modern and lovely powerful shower. Can’t wait to return.

Just returned from a lovely week away at Katia. This is a family run business and we found the staff to be extremely welcoming and friendly. They gave us great tips on places to visit and restaurants to try. The accommodation is fairly basic but clean. We stayed in a family room and my only advice would be to provide a fan for the living area as this not have a/c. Only the bedroom did. We knew beforehand this would be the case so actually bought our own. Without this, it would have been tough sleeping in the living area. We went in August so at peak time, but always found sun beds. Was great not to have to worry about the palaver of reserving sun beds. We used the pool bar frequently for lunch and found the food nice. The hotel is on a busy road but I never heard the traffic. There is a supermarket next door which had lots of things and the owners were really helpful. There is also a bakery across the road so we got some fab pastries for breakfast. We also ate at Whistlers restaurant next door which was delicious. I would also highly recommend Platon in Ialysos. If you’re looking for a no frills but pleasant holiday, you’ll enjoy Katia.

Value for money excellent. I’ve never been to a 2/3 star hotel with the level Of cleanliness that the Katie has. Rooms were pristine but what was even more impressive was the public pool toilet. Exemplary at all times of the day. Staff - oh my gosh - they were all lovely. It was clear that this family, and the staff they employed, aimed to make every guest feel the most important. From the wonderful lady that cleaned our room, to the two super chaps who manned the pool bar, to the young lady who served in the evening- they made us all feel so welcome. My 9 year old granddaughter gained confidence saying the limited Greek words she knew. Everyone appreciated her trying. Reading the reviews - to the 68 solo lady traveller - who said she was escorted to her room but had to carry her case. Did you ask? I couldn’t have carried my case, but I know if I had asked this family, it wouldn’t have been a problem. To the person who went to the beach but found no tavernas - did you look to the left?! Gosh - Bikini bar - great staff - great food - the best for us was Maestro - on the beach great food. Katia staff - so much more friendly but there are loads of places to eat on the beach. Oh - sun beds - never a problem! I can’t wait to return.

Stayed here for a week in July, 2 adults and 2 kids. Room: we stayed in a 1 bed apartment on the 3rd floor. The room was OK, clean and had all the basics you would need, fridge,hob, kettle, cutlery,good shower. The only negative was the air con (which was an extra charge of €70 for the week) it was located in the bedroom,good for whoever is sleeping in there, but for the other people sleeping on the pull out sofas in the living area, it never came trough. So it was unbearable at times. Food: We had breakfast included and it was fine, nice fresh eggs each morning, cereals, breads, cold meats and coffee and juices, the lovely ladies working there even made the kids fresh pancakes a few mornings. We had lunch and dinner also a few times and it was very good and very reasonably priced. The drinks wer also very good, frozen glasses made drinks even better. Pool: never had a problem getting sunbeds, lovely atmosphere around the pool area, the swim around pool around the bar was the highlight. There was a main pool and a small kids pool also. Location: very close to the airport, 15/20 min and 15 min to rhodes old town in a taxi. There is a bus stop located outside the hotel but we found it was always jam packed so we just got taxis, €15 in to the old town. The is a little supermarket next door we used everyday, a bit further up the road is a bigger supermarket. Across the road from the hotel is a beautiful bakery with gorgeous cakes, croissants ,coffees. Also a car rental place across also. If you come out of the hotel and take a left a 15min walk will bring you to some lovely restaurants and a lovely kids playground down by the sea. All in all a lovely little hotel. The staff wer always very nice and helpful, on the last day we had a late flight and we wer able to get late checkout until 7pm for €50 so this was great.

This was a brilliant time away and well needed. All the service was excellent and Demitrius and Dominic at the bar made our stay a pleasure. All the staff were excellent, from the top to the bottom. I definitely would come back. Thanks guys, Oliver and Lawrence from London.
