Residence U Mecenáše

Absolutely loved staying at U Mecenáše. Our apartment was on the top floor and was fabulous. It had so much character with the beams and the history of the building and the location was perfect, with short walks to all the major attractions. Staff were lovely and helpful too. If climbing stairs is an issue then I would advise getting one of the apartments on the lower levels but I thoroughly recommend staying there.

We loved staying at this hotel. We arrived late at night and they were brilliant at communicating beforehand to make sure that we had all the information we needed to get the keys to our room so we could head straight to bed. The breakfast basket was the highlight of our stay, everything was fresh and delicious and meant that we could be flexible with when we got up. It also meant that we saved so much money as we could just take leftover food with us for lunch. By the end of the trip we had enough food to make lunches for the rest of the people we were on holiday with! The bed was comfy, the location was excellent and meant we could walk everywhere (we had friends staying at the Hilton and they had to get Ubers everywhere) and the staff were so welcoming. I would love to stay here again!

Great location, large apartment, staff is excellent and helpful. Be warned about their airport transfer service, it is not reliable! Would have given 5 stars otherwise. The service was quite late on arrival, no big deal… but on departure, at 4:40am, nobody showed up and no communications. After 10 minutes of trying to reach them, the owner claimed some police check delay, stating he could send someone soon. We used Uber which was plentiful and arrived within 2 minutes, thankfully, as our flight was at 7am.

Excellent room with a great view. Super helpful staff. Superb location. Fantastic decor. Clean rooms. Everything was perfect. We will definitely be back. Even if you expect ‘downtown’ noise it was surprisingly quiet and bar noise stopped promptly and early enough.

Where to start?? Stay here, just stay here. You won't regret it and you will be so happyt you did! The location is absolutely perfect for anyone visiting Prague. It's a completely different world than the crowded and super touristy Old Town. You can be in Old Town and across the Charles Bridge in a 5-10 minute stroll, or you can go up the hill to the Prague Castle and Petrin Tower. You can feel the history oozing out of the beams in the apartments! This has a neighborhood feel with tons of bars, cafes, restaurants and the Castle overlooking you. Multiple trams stop right at the corner, making your transport options easy and endless. We had the 2 bedroom attic apartment with a castle view. As people have pointed out - 3 flights of stairs for the top level rooms, so keep that in mind with any mobility issues. We did not need a 2 bedroom as a couple, but it was very nice having the extra space to spread out and we used one bedroom for luggage and clothes storage. The automated window blinds and AC were welcome sights to see. The restaurant downstairs is very good, as is the entire row of cafes that line the street. However, it was quiet at night, as well. The women working at reception were friendly and quick. The breakfast basket lasted us 3 days, as well! The bathroom is split into 2 rooms, a water closet and then the shower/laundry room, which makes getting dressed and ready easy. Having access to a washer was a huge bonus as we were there in a heat wave and definitely used it. The apartment was a perfect place as a home base for 6 days in Prague! We would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely return! I don't know why anyone would stay in a Marriott or a brand hotel over this type of place!

Characterful spacious apartment, great location, immaculately clean, with every amenity provided. The staff were all very helpful, both before and during our visit, and we appreciated the daily 'light' housekeeping, and the opportunity to order a freshly prepared breakfast basket for delivery to the apartment. We would also recommend the restaurant situated on the ground floor of the residence. Our stay in Prague was undoubtedly enhanced by staying in Residence U Macanese and we would love to return.
