Bevanda Hotel & Restaurant - Unique Adriatic

Big disappointment. It was our second visit to Opatija, staying at the same hotel Bevanda, which we really liked the first time. However, this time around, it turned into a mini disaster. The hotel rooms are situated above the restaurant bar and on the first night everything was ok: there was some noise coming from the bar, but by 11 pm it was quiet. The second night, however, they had live music or a DJ there, which was banging extremely loudly past all reasonable time. When it did not stop after midnight, I had to go to the reception desk where I was met by a clerk, who told me he couldn’t do much about the noise, but promised to talk to the bar manager. He also tried to educate me saying that a hotel IS a place to party. Back in the room I waited for the music to quiet down, but it did not happen. At around 1 AM I came downstairs again and got a chance to speak to the bar manager. He promised to have the music be turned down (not off), and eventually it was a bit quieter. The bar manager also offered me a dinner at the hotel’s restaurant for the following day as a small compensation for the inconvenience. The music continued until almost 2 am, so it was impossible to fall asleep. My next day was ruined as I was completely exhausted due to the la k of sleep. Comes dinner time, we dine at the hotel’s restaurant and pay the full price. No mention about dinner a gratis from the restaurant workers. Even though the lady at the reception desk apologized to us the day of our departure, it was certainly not enough to compensate for all the inconvenience. So, for those who expect a hotel to be a relaxing place where one can sleep well, choose another place please!

Walked into an empty restaurant and asked for a table. There were no reserved tables and only two occupied so we asked for a seafront table. Were very reluctantly offered a table at the back. Rude and very poor service as we would have eaten one course and been gone before the ?reserved? guests arrived. come on, there was no need to have empty tables snd your staff should promote your restaurant not reject people

We chose this hotel as it was on the same jetty area as we’d join our cruise to Dubrovnik. It was an expensive choice but the sea view room with a large veranda and jacuzzi was absolutely amazing. The coffee pods in the room were chargeable but no signs advised us if this and we were charged. This hasn’t happened to me anywhere else in the world and I’ve stayed at some very opulent properties. My wife is a coeliac and needs GF only food ingredients but she is also allergic to all forms of seafood. On our second night we opted to dine in and this was all explained to the waitress. As it turned out this wasn’t understood and my wife was soon served a tempura prawn and later on a GF dessert which most definitely wasn’t GF. This fine dining experience was far from what it should have been and a real disappointment. Breakfasts on both mornings were excellent but hard work in that only one waiter was in duty and sadly he didn’t understand English really. A five star hotel with two star restaurant service sadly. The hotel no longer charges to use the brew making facilities in the rooms. No significant apology was received for the disastrous dinner event.

I love this hotel, and it all started with a dinner in the restaurant downstairs the night before, which I have reviewed. So the next day we were going to leave Opatija, but had some time in the morning, and since the weather was great for late February, we decided to go back to Bevanda for some cocktails. The terrace outside with the views over Rijeka was stunning. We looked at Bevanda hotel on TripAdvisor out of curiosity as we noticed that rooms have fantastic views, and while enjoying the sunshine we decided it would be a great idea to extend our stay, and spend a night in this hotel. I am so happy we did. The room was perfect. It was very modern, clean, with amazing views from the terrace, and the room itself as it's all top to bottom windows, and you are looking at the riviera while having a lovely bath. Amazing. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had to leave early the next morning before they started serving breakfast, but the team members have prepared something for us to take on our journey back. Absolutely fantastic. Professional with high standards. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is totally overrated. Pretending outfit at the sea shore, service is inexistant. Some inexperienced and probably poorly paid service maid try their best, but quickly admit their ignorance. Parking is a nightmare. The hotel is loud in every respect, with no isolation from the noise of the hallway or neighboring rooms. The worst experience though is the disco bar on the basement with loud beats until late at night. You don’t believe it when you stay at a so-called 5* hotel. To be fair, the location is great and the breakfast is nice. But the experience of the noisy bar and the lack of any service is such that you don’t enjoy any of the other features of this hotel. It feels like some greedy investors try to make quick money by fooling clients and don’t care whether you’ll come back or not. They in fact don’t expect you to come back.

Ik schrijf deze beoordeling zelfs terwijl ik nog in het hotel logeer. Onze agent boekte ons hier voor 3 nachten, van vrijdag tot maandag, en zowel onze agent als ikzelf stelde de uitdrukkelijke vraag voor een stille kamer, doch onze kamer lag zowat naast het zwembad! Hier moet je alleen komen als je graag zeer luide muziek hoort tot 4 uur in de ochtend, pool parties en andere evenementen tot een stuk in de nacht! Wij hebben geen enkele nacht goed of genoeg kunnen slapen. De website spreekt van live music en animatie, doch niet van luide disco muziek tot tegen de ochtend! Maar.... dit was niet alle dagen, neen ”enkel in de weekends”. En ja, je zit in het centrum, en wat muziek hoort er bij, maar toch niet luide disco muziek met zware bassen tot uren in de nacht! Contacteerde zelfs onze reisagent thuis met de vraag om ons hier weg te halen, maar er kon geen ander bevredigend hotel gevonden worden. En 5 sterren lijkt me net wat overdreven. De safe werkte niet naar behoren, de airco kan niet zelf geregeld worden, daarvoor moet je naar de receptie bellen, de kleine flush van de toilet werkte niet, geen licht voor scheren of aanbrengen make up, en om de gordijn in de badkamer te sluiten moet je over de jacuzzi klauteren. Enkele malen dit alles doorgegeven, doch ”herstellingen konden pas volgende week gebeuren”.
