Aminess Vival Lišanj Family Hotel

We picked the hotel because it was declared as kids friendly and guess what it was kids friendly - huge playroom, kids klub and kids movie theatre. The little one had Wonderful time as well as me and my wife because the hotel is adults friendly too thanks to the great staff - special thanks goes to the receptionists who were always smiling and helpful - Thanks Ivana, Laura, Sanda and Nikša. There was also very nice hotel manager (unfortunately didn't copy down his name) who would greet us every single time we showed up for meal. The quality of food in a form of a rich buffet was outstanding - kudos to the hotel chefs. I'm sure, we're coming back.

On our travels to Italy we decided to divert for a few days and take a short holiday in Croatia. We found this hotel as we were searching for reservations while still in the US. Overall it was a very good stay. Hotel was clean and all meals were included. While the meals were adequate we ventured out into town for dinner each night. One great place was San Mariano. It was a short walk along the beach. It's an outdoor restaurant with great food and a great view. Staff was very friendly but we want to give huge shoutouts to Randy as he took care of us at the beach and Petar at the pool bar. He was friendly and helpful. This hotel is far way from home for us but we felt comfortable and welcomed. Thank you for a memorable stay. Our daughter cried on our last night because she didn’t want to leave.

The most terrible thing- cleanliness. Plates and glasses were filthy, so we needed to pick “the best ones”, pool was dirty, room was not cleaned etc. so if you are sensitive about this- do not go to this hotel. It was renovated in 2018 but since then it looks like nothing was re-invested; worn out towels, sheets, paint coming off the pools etc. Karting zone for kids- you have 2 working electric kid cars and 5 that do not work, all of them are somehow broken. Realy not suited for 4 star hotel, more 2 and a half. Maybe we expected too much, but we compared it with our stay at Family Hotel Amarin (Rovinj) - similar pricing but completely different experience, this hotel cannot compete in any way with that; there is one bright star shinning upon this poor management’s hotel and that are their staff. From bellboy to cleaning ladies to barman, cooks and all others- hats off to your commitment to service your guests with your possitive attitude

Tonight we have arrived to the hotel Lisanj. It was an incredible shock for me. There were ants in the room, the carpet is so dirty that it would probably only fit in a barn. There is a visible trace of something on the small stool, which may have been vomit not long ago. In response to a complaint about ants, an elderly lady came with a disinsection agent, and she started spraying the ants in my presence and the presence of my child. However, it is not possible to use in the presence of people. Just absolute horror. I couldn't hold back the tears. If it were not such a long way back home, I would have left immediately.

It was definitely our mistake staying at this hotel as a couple, IT IS FOR KIDS. This place is purely marketed to kids. Screaming babies and hyper toddlers everywhere, allowed to run wild - you cannot escape them. So putting aside the fact that we were eating and sleeping in the middle of crazy kids crèche (think butlins on steroids, but a fraction of the size but still with the same amount of kids and an even smaller budget) this was our mistake and so not our gripe… The issue is the standards they keep - This place is awfully run down, they can’t keep up with the mayhem all of the kids cause. Everything is broken from the sun loungers and tables, to the T.V remotes in the rooms. Every single wall in the common areas are covered in scuffs, filth and most have damp and paint peeling off. They seem to make no attempt to keep the keep the place tidy or well kept, there are broken concrete tiles everywhere in the outside areas & piles of discarded old furniture around every corner. The pool literally had piles of dirt at the bottom, and the rim was green - the loungers weren’t much cleaner. Meal times were chaos, the food is mainly for kids - pizza, chips, ice cream and there isn’t a single seat in the restaurant where it’s a kid free zone, so no chance if a peaceful meal. The floors aren’t cleared during meal times, so squashed food everywhere. We couldn’t use the massage facility either as were told they were fully booked for the next 2 weeks… Our room was grotty… I mean really grotty. Blood, snot and squashed bugs on the walls. Stains (smelt like fresh vomit) on the furniture as well as marker pen scribbles all over the place. The curtains were pulled off the runners on one end, so couldn’t get the room dark enough for a good sleep. A sticky remote control for a T.V that didn’t work. I offered to show the receptionist all these things in the room, she declined and just took 10% off the bill instead…really!!! Also, the air con is set so the lowest temp is 22….it’s hot here, so we needed it to be cooler than this for a good nights sleep, but the very rude receptionist said “nothing can do about it“ and hung up. Do not stay here. It’s not even a cheap place to stay- €300 for 1 night!!! Don’t waste your money or time. AVOID

Perhaps coming as a couple to this hotel was a bad idea…yes we knew it was a “family hotel” but I didn’t imagine it to be at the level of kid focused that it is…Screaming babies everywhere! Everything is aimed at young children and you cannot escape them! So for families it might be great, for couples, groups or anyone without young children, definitely not! We only stayed here for 1 night as needed a stopping point between Sibenik and Pula, and what a mistake! Looking past the fact we were sleeping in a children’s playground… the place is incredibly grotty and run down. The outdoor pool is so, so dirty. The wellness centre is the same. The food is god awful - predominantly aimed at kids, so chicken nuggets, pizza, chips…. Stains everywhere in the rooms & hallways. Exceptionally Rude staff
