The Station Hotel

Comfortable stay, convenient location. Would recommend.

Location is excellent, pretty much opposite Hither Green station, and around 15–20 mins on the train from London Bridge and the West End (with multiple trains per hour). And it is a lovely spacious, big old London pub with a nice atmosphere. The room was clean, smart and well equipped. (Note, there is no lift in this hotel; a minor point but worth noting for those not good with stairs.) I stayed on the top (3rd) floor, Friday night through to Monday, and experienced no noise disturbance from the bar below at all, and none outside after closing either (the pub appeared to be situated in a fairly quiet spot). Staff were super friendly; the food was very good and, happily, the menu had good healthy, vegetarian options. The only slight downside is that no fresh fruit/yoghurt was on offer at breakfast – but that was more than made up for by the excellent avocado and poached eggs on sourdough bread! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

A large pub with rooms. Our room (12) on the second floor was spacious and separated from any possible noise from the pub and restaurant. The bed was very firm and the duvet lumpy. Lighting over the sink in the bathroom was non-existent, although the mirror was very attractive. The staff were pleasant and helpful but breakfast service was very slow and coffee options only served with full-fat milk.
