Marianna Hotel

We stayed at the Marianna for 9 nights, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming! Our room was ready early on arrival, and we were allocated a quiet room on a high floor as requested. Plenty of storage space, good views from the balcony and the excellent service throughout- we’ll definitely return!

Check in- Speedy friendly Then the disappointment started. Firstly when checking in the owner said the mosquito screen was broken by previous guest,and would be repaired. Never happened. Then we arrive at the Studio room. Melamine Kitchen would cupboards all chipped and blown Pots and dishes all a "mish mash"of different colours sizes. Then we enter the combo bathroom/toilet. Really really dated. Plastic shower curtain and shower tray. No cubicle. Combine mixer tap,and shower head. Nowhere to fix the head up on the wall! You have hold the head with one hand and shower with the other. Floor gets flooded. Probably the worst bathroom in 20+ years of travel abroad. The snack bar was the only saving grace with breakfast and snacks served by friendly family members. We recognise many people return time and time again, but not for us. Cheapest on Jet2, but we now see why. Finally the photos on the website DO NOT represent the room we were allocated (NOT ONE)with special note that none show the bathroom area, and the kitchen photos are selective. We not stay again. Plenty more on the same street a LOT better. If the quality of accommodations is secondary, and price is the most important then book it. Otherwise avoid.

The owners and all other staff are very lovely and welcoming. All very helpful and made sure we all had a good stay. This is a basic apartment style hotel and you get what you pay for. The rooms are fine, they have a small kitchen area with microwave, two ring camping stove, sink, cutlery, pots, plates, bowls and mugs/glasses. There is a good sized fridge with small freezer compartment and a few cupboards for storage. There is a kettle provided. There is a large triple wardrobe with internal storage. Our room had a table and 3 chairs, dressing table and two single beds and a small double bed settee. Be aware that the beds are extremely hard and only one pillow is provided but staff can provide more if needed. The sheets and towels are supposed to be changed twice a week but we never had ours changed during our 2 week stay and actually had tk request this from the cleaners. Rooms are brushed, mopped and beds made daily. They are not spotlessly cleaned like other reviews have stated which was disappointing. There is no hairdryer in the room, you will need to request this. I always bring mine so didn't need to request. The rooms need some serious updating, other than that they are basic and fine. The hotel pool and snack bar is great, the staff are friendly, pool and surrounding area is clean. The food is brilliant and reasonably priced. There are poolside showers/toilets and changing areas which are clean and tidy. Very handy for those who need to freshen up before a late flight home. There is a quiet/library area good for those who need some peace and a cool area away from fhe pool. The front of hotel and the Cocktail bar is spotless, very clean and welcoming! The cocktails here are amazing, I would say they have some of the best in Tigaki. Their Strawberry daquiris are to die for! Overall, our stay was pleasant and we would return but it would be nice to see the rooms updated in the future and better cleaning/more frequent bedding and towel changes for longer stays.
