Park Hotel

If you’re considering booking your stay at this place, please DONT!!! This is the friendly advice I wish I had received before. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel and totally not worth the price. We had a reservation there booked months ago, got a taxi from central London to the suburbs where it’s located, just to arrive there and be informed that EVERY SINGLE room in the hotel was working perfectly, except for ours, which was in renovations, and yet no one made a single attempt to let us know in advance. They could have reached us by email or by phone, so we would save our time from going there. The receptionist was extremely rude, unprofessional and made it very clear that she wouldn’t help us and couldn’t place us in another bedroom because it was fully booked. She wasn’t willing to give the manager’s contact either since it was on the weekend and they would be unavailable. When I mentioned that they could have told me in advance, she simply said that she’s not the only worker there and she’s not responsible for what the others do in their shifts. Completely indifferent to the situation. Of course that a prepayment is required when you make the reservation, but besides that, a security deposit of 100 pounds is also requested once you arrive, even if there is no information about it in the website. The only solution found for us was to replace us to another hotel from the same chain, because refunding us was not allowed either. So we were obligated to sleep in a hotel we didn’t choose and still the receptionist never, at any point, apologized for the inconvenient. Surely don’t recommend this hotel.

This is not a hotel it is a dose house used to hold migrants etc. Absolutely shocking dirty and people fighting in surrounding rooms nightly stay away not safe. Bed linen also not suitable and pillows waste of time stayed for 2 x nights never again

So, my partner booked this hotel and then we read the reviews on trip advisor. Suffice to say, we then panicked to try and find another booking as the reviews on here are less then complimentary. Upon failing we decided to give it a try and play it by ear. However, we were greeted with a hotel that is completely different to these reviews. The building has all been freshly painted and decorated. In fact, they were repainting the outside wall whilst we were there. We were greeted by friendly hotel staff who were welcoming and pleasant. There is a £50 deposit but this is released back to you provided you don't smoke in the room or damage it. We were in room C14 and the building this room is housed in has just been recarpetted, you can literally smell the new carpet and paint. The room itself was nothing amazing, but it was clean and functional and more modern. There is plenty of storage although I would stay bring your own hangers for the wardrobe as there weren't any, but we were happy to just store our bags in there. There was a TV which worked perfectly. The bathroom was small but adequate with a working shower. There were 2 toilet rolls provided and complimentary soaps and 2 sets of clean white towels. The window in the bathroom was locked and didn't open. The two windows in our rooms opened and the curtains were clean and modern. The bedding was plain white, immaculate and the bed was firm but comfortable. I would recommend taking a pillow of your own as the ones provided are quite thin, but some people like that. The walls are quite thin in the building and we could hear what was going on in the hall way but that being said, there was barely anything happening and we slept soundly for the 2 nights we were there. We didn't have the breakfast as we don't think they were doing it, but if you would want that double check on reception. There was a kettle but no cups or teaspoons so I would take them. I would also recommend taking a fan in the summer, because we did find the room incredibly hot and humid but we are people who are ALWAYS hot, so this isn't a reflection on the room. All in all, it isn't the ritz but it is a lot better since undergoing some evident renovation and is a pleasant, budget friendly stay. The staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. We will definitely rebook and look forward to seeing this little hotel getting better reviews going forward. I didn't take any photos as was too wrapped up in visiting London but it genuinely looks nothing like the photos on here anymore. Absolute dump. Pictures are deceiving. Theres no tea cups or complimentary tea/coffee. They charge extra £50 deposit on arrival n dont provide the basic. Rude and clueless staff. I had to argue to get tea/ coffee, no milk provided in the end. On arrival staff adamantly demanded the deposit referring back to website terms n conditions then when I referenced back to the website where it said breakfast is included they acted clueless n nodged their shoulders n refused to give me refund so i can leave and refer back to website claiming they dont deal with payments etc. contradicting fools and think they can bully u into their way. Do not book waste of time n money. Rather sleep in ur cars than here.
