Constance Halaveli

If you are considering Halaveli for your holiday, then stop reading this review and go book it now. It can be overwhelming when you first start looking for somewhere to stay but Halaveli delivers on all fronts. From our arrival until the day we left, everything was perfect and I include the transfer to and from the island in the Constance Lounge in Malé where we were really looked after by Shamla. The island itself is pristine, with great surrounds and beautiful sea life, but what really made the awesome experience we had was the team at Halaveli. Nothing was too much trouble but better than that, they anticipated everything and were truly accommodating. I think some times people can be a bit sniffy at buffet set ups but Halaveli will change your mind on this. The food in all three restaurants that we visited (2 al a carte and one buffet) was lovely. A big shout out to Tapas who looked after us so wonderfully and the Indian Ocean night was incredible. We did a variety of activities in our eight days at Halaveli including manta ray snorkelling, turtle snorkelling and a sea expedition. I also had some wonderful spa treatments (thank you Iluh) and the team at the spa (Shanda and Juwita) were super lovely and kind. Thank you. Honestly, Halaveli is probably the best place I’ve stayed at and has made my first trip to the Maldives one that I’ll remember forever. Too many wonderful people to thank for helping us celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary but special mention goes to Adam and Naape on the beach. Hussan for his great service and fishing chats. Rasheed who was the perfect host. Yousef for our spotless water villa and the beautiful bed decorations. Asela for making us the most delicious sundowner cocktails and Sandun for being the main man at Jing!

We firstly chose Constance Halaveli aiming for the best experiences of snorkeling and diving. However, to all our greatest surprise and enjoyment, the hotel has enriched us with so many fresh colors and tastes, unforgettable moments and memories: Sunrise farewell breakfast at water front beach offered by Restaurant manager Rasheed is a divine experience, Sunset Dinner at Micheline-styled Jing restaurant with this Indian chef Atul and its team offers a most delicious meal. At Diving Center, all the laughters and chats with those young people and diving masters, has ensured our son with a successful return of passion for diving. What I love most about this hotel is that all the staff are so knowledgeable, well trained and talented in each domain such as transportation pickups, reception desk, wine tasting, food and beverage services, housekeeping decoration and music selection through every event and dinners. All the details are treated with personal touches and every communication goes seamlessly and effortlessly well. We like to come back for another Christmas or New Year Eve, hopefully bringing more families and friends here soon! Thanks to Management and everyone at Constance!

The villa was huge with direct access to the sea and a private plunge pool with excellent customer service ever single staff knows what everyone is doing.Having stayed in some of the best hotels around the world the customer service of this hotel stands out.This is my favorite hotel by far.

Another 5 star Constance experience. This is our second time at Constance Halaveli. On this occasion diving was on the agenda having as recovers as much as possible from a broken arm. The diving was 5 star all the way. Everything you need is provided. The boats are step off and ladder back both very simple. 15L tanks available for air waters such as myself. They have a preference for Nitrox so do the course before arriving. Excellent sites all around some with pretty stiff currents that mean you need a reef hook that they provide. The knowledge of the dive crew is excellent and they are super friendly. There is a reason this area is well known for diving as the photos will show. Our room was just perfect for us. We selected the beachside pool villa. Room maintenance was fabulous and our room guys did a great job every day. There are personalities on the island that make a massive difference. Tangi and Sameera in particular lead outstanding cuisine and operational standards. Nothing gets missed. They constantly seek feedback and respond to it positively and instantly. We have stayed at some of the best resorts the Maldives has to offer this is without doubt an exceptional experience. We will, as they say, be back :).

Even before the flight took off, it felt like everything had already been taken care of. Amélie had proved a master in arranging late plans of seaplane commuting via Male. From the welcome at the airport by the host Mr Adhil Ms Rilaath and Darina on arrival at the resort, the journey turned into bliss. At the Jahaz bar bespoke cocktails were immediately crafted to my preferred flavour profiles by Asela and Bandara, whilst chef Malith and Gamini made a swift job of the freshest ingredients at the live station. Fine dining at Jing restaurant overhung the underwater lit thriving lagoon life. The team from Marsan, Shaheeb, Akul the wine Sommelier (special mention for the mature cheese platter pairing with Maury Mas Amiel 1985) as well as chefs Chamara and Vinay played a great partition around seafood and beautiful wines by the glass under the watchful coordination of Max and Sameera. The Sisley spa was another find, with great advice at the reception by Irene and Shanda. Treatment was expertly provided by Ashok, a master in his craft with 15 years experience in reflexology and pressure points therapy. The bungalow was kept artfully decorated and pristine thanks to the housekeeping team under Rakesh and Alan. An incredible welcome display - a special gesture from Mr Le Grand - was installed on arrival. Through my stay the hosts Nihad and Safwam proved real artists in decorating the bed with palm leaves. In villa dining was also a pleasantly elevated treat, from organic wines in the mini-bar to floating tray in the villa pool. Sameera, Damith and Ismael have been very resourceful in assisting under short notice. Mr Jayadewa - swimming pool in charge - was a great conversation on the archipelago and its environment. The snorkeling trips are a must when in the mood to watch turtles or Manta rays but only the immediate omnipresence of the immaculate ocean suffices to a complete change of horizons.

You will often see very flowery, superlative-laden language used to advertise these kinds of resorts. Let me just say, having now returned from our honeymoon at Constance Halaveli, that anything you read describing it in those terms is absolutely true. It was an incredible stay from start to finish. The water villa was top-notch, with the deck being our favorite hangout spot. We could snorkel right outside of our villa and see tropical fish and other sea creatures. You are also basically guaranteed to see fish, reef sharks, and the occasional ray while traversing the boardwalk or strolling down the beach near the docks. My wife got a thrill out of seeing the rays and hoped to catch a glimpse of one every day (we managed every day but one). The food was delicious. I had the best duck I’ve ever had one evening, which was the standout for me, but nothing was anything less than fantastic, even the buffet. The massages we had on our first and last days were blissful and really helped us relax. The staff were lovely as well, always greeting you with a warm, heartfelt smile. I enjoyed the conversations I had with many of them. A list too extensive to cover here, but special mentions to Akul for the wine tasting experience (another highlight for us), the rest of the sommelier team, the chefs and wait staff for their friendliness and hospitality, and everyone who gave us a lift in the buggies, who often shared useful insights with us. Shout out to Jay from the cleaning crew as well for going above and beyond and taking our photo on more than one occasion. Truly an incredible, almost otherworldly place and we’d love to go back some day.
