Hotel Doolin

Excellent rooms, bar, dining and above all else STAFF. We met, 11 of us for a family birthday celebration. Some of the party had stayed previous night, we stayed on the night involved. Room was super double aspect, warm, bright, very well appointed and above all else exceptionally clean. We all dined at Fitz's bar, great choice of food - from sea-food to steak burgers etc. All enjoyed their meals. Service was relaxed and efficient. A birthday cake was brought to the table, complete with a rendition of Happy Birthday - all excellent. Thanks too all at Hotel Doolin - highly recommended.

Hotel Doolin was the perfect place to have a family gathering. We traveled from Australia and the US to be together! Even though it was a cold time of the year, it was very cozy in the hotel. The food, staff and atmosphere were fantastic! The music in Fitz bar was really fun. We will be back.,

We had a great time at Hotel Doolin. The rooms were comfortable , the food in the bar was very good and ,most of all, the friendliest and most efficient staff we have met in nearly 60 years of travelling . The best ever . No exaggeration . And the music on Monday night was superb . genuinely top class. We had a wonderful 3 days in early January . We will be back . Thank you to all the team at Hotel Doolin

Actually the pillows could be fluffier. Down or down substitutes for people with allergies. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was immaculate. To say more would really be redundant. I don’t have anything else to say about the facilities.

My family and I have stayed in Doolin multiple times and love it. However this time we were disappointed with our stay and really felt the cost did not reflect the service or hospitality. We found the self catering house to be very dated and it had a smell of sewage. It was also cold with old storage heaters. While we did light a fire there was no extra fuel supplied to keep the fire going. We noted the poor smell to the female staff member on reception desk at check out the following morning. She said we should have reported it the night before if the smell was that bad. She also said a manager would give us a call about the complaint but we heard nothing back. The service at breakfast was also poor, having to ask for butter multiple times and service was slow. There seemed to be poor communication and disorganisation amongst staff. The breakfast cost was included in the reservation price when I booked online. On check in I was told by a male staff member that breakfast wasn’t included but another staff member double checked the system and said it was. At breakfast the following morning, a staff member again challenged us that breakfast wasn’t included. We had to wait for him to check with reception to see if it was included. We found this very unprofessional.

Lovely. meal in Stonewall, a great fun night out in Fitz's park - music was so good we were up on the dance floor by the end - and just a short walk to bed when it was all over! We were so impressed to find one of the musicians from the previous night serving our breakfast - and even more impressed to be given a leaving present - some brown bread to bring home. It was a brilliant night and I look forward to returning.
