I had a very mixed experience with Cabinn on a recent business trip.
The key selling point for this hotel is it is relatively cheap and in a decent location. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Havneholmen metro station, which is a short (5-10 min) metro ride from the central station and kongens nytorv.
The rooms (I had a 'Commodore' twin room) are small (the pictures make it look bigger than it is) but fine for one person. I could see it being a struggle for two people, though.
Also, the bathroom is very small - a 'pod' style wetroom. So when you shower, the toilet and sink gets showered on too, and sometimes water escapes onto the carpet in the room through the door frame. Again, fine for one person for a few days, but worth keeping in mind as they didn't show any pictures of these bathrooms online at the time of writing.
Visually, the rooms looked pretty clean (except the carpet, which was old and a bit grimy).
The breakfast buffet is decent. It has a resonable variety (basic cereals; rolls, bread & spread; cheese & meats, eggs) of decent quality food. However, it is quite expensive (110DKK/€15 since I booked in advance) for what it is. You get a better and cheaper breakfast at Ikea about 5 minutes up the road.
I didn't try out their leisure facilities (cinema, gym, bike hire, etc) so cannot comment on these.
Now for the ugly part... I am 80% sure I found a recently fed bed bug nymph in my bed. I first saw a few small blood spots on my sheets after the second night, but had no cuts/injuries. Then I saw a tiny (~1mm) red translucent bug on my sheet which, when crushed, spilled a drop of blood. Unfortunately the matresses are black so it is impossible to spot the other telltale signs of bedbugs on the mattress (black spots). I did see some black spots on the pillowcase but i didn't check it before I slept there for two nights so its difficult to say if that's related.
I didn't notice any bites, but I reported it to reception anyway because I was a bit freaked out. The woman at the reception did not seem surprised, shocked or apologetic. She informed me there is a procedure - they moved me rooms assured me that the old room would be closed for 2 weeks for investigation. They also offered to freeze my belongings for 24 hours to kill any possible bugs (but I was leaving early the next morning so unfortunately couldn't use this option).
It is horrifying to find insects and blood in your bed (even if it is not a bed bug) but at least there is a procedure. And the new room had no evidence of bed bugs. On reflection, I think if there was an infestation, it was recent and/or minor considering I only found one small bug.
However, when I went for breakfast the next morning I accidentally gave my old room number, and the person checking the room numbers told me "the person in that room has already entered for breakfast". So it seems that between 7pm on Wednesday night and 8am on Thursday morning, they gave the room away that was supposed to be closed for 2 weeks! I find it hard to believe they had time to call in a professonal pest controller to inspect the room in that time. Although I have no evidence of what they did, I think it is likely they just changed the sheets and gave the room away to the next person who wanted it!
If it is true that a guest was given my old room only a few hours after I reported a possible bed bug infestation, this seems like a terrible way to deal with a suspected bed bug problem, and a glimpse into the way management choose to run the hotel.
I took a photo of the suspected bed bug, but I think it is against trip.com ToS to upload it.
I think the overall conclusion to draw from this experience is: Cabinn Copenhagen is a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for. It is probably fine for solo travel for a few days, but you might be better at a hostel in the city centre. If you do stay here, make sure to check the room for bugs thouroughly before and after sleeping!
