Xhabe Safari Lodge Chobe

Stayed one night at the lodge going north to Kasane, drove throught the national park the next day, Chobe river front road, what an experiance. The camp is clean and well run on the hill side looking down into the valley. I saw what I thought were cattle, untill a South African chap said, no Elephant, maybe 75 plus walking left to right through the valley, ran and got my binoculars, biggest herd of the trip.

This was our first Safari lodge experience. This property, the staff, and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. The tents are well appointed and comfortable. They are spacious with full shower and toilet. They are situated on the property with beautiful views of the land. The lodge/dining/bar area is gorgeous. It is decorated beautifully with plenty of comfortable seating. The pool is gorgeous and refreshing in the warm temperatures. The exceptional part of this lodge is the staff. Ronald was our host. He was welcoming and very accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The chef and kitchen staff made some of the best meals we have ever had. They made our dining experiences exceptional. The two favorites were the beans with tuna and also the chickpea curry. On our last night there, they made us a traditional Africa dinner our by the bins. It was a perfect evening with really delicious food and ambiance. We experienced the traditional canoe ride on the Chobe River. It was wonderful and peaceful. We ended with a drink and some food that the staff set up for us along the river for the sundowner. It was a special first night on Safari. Also, our game drives with Gaba we’re incredible. We saw so much wildlife. He was knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. That was our first experience, and it did not disappoint. I would not change anything about this place. It was new when we stayed there, but it felt as though the staff had been doing it forever. The only I would change would be to extend our stay there.
