Hayward Hotel

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. We arrived for a 2 night stay, entered the lobby to the hotel manager paraletic on booze. There was no official booking system, just handed a random key of about 20 that was left on the side. Manager didn't show us to our rooms just said upstairs and then he continued with his drinking. Opened our door to absolute filth, grime in every area of the room that you could think of. Dirty bedding, mould covering the whole bathroom, filthy mirrors, old and outdated decor. Lights not working, dust smothering every surface. Tip of the iceberg was that a door to our room wouldn't close, it was propped shut with a single metal bed. If we had children it would be a predators paradise for peeping through the door watching you sleep. Supposed to also be a fire door but it was blocked with the bed. We lasted for all of 5 minutes before paying an extra £500 to move hotels. Absolutely disgusting , wouldnt sleep there if I was paid to.

Is the Hayward Hotel the Ritz? No. Will you be welcomed warmly and have a place to lay your head after a day exploring or a night on the town? Absolutely! The location is brilliant, being a stones throw away from the promenade and Dave can not do enough for his guests. The hotel itself could use a bit of TLC and a refresh but if you're not fussy and are just looking for somewhere to use as a base, they Hayward Hotel is ideal.

This seems a pretty standard "Blackpool on a budget" experience. I visit every year for the punk festival and try a number of cheap hotels. It's dated, needs a lick of paint and deep clean, but the welcome is warm and so is the shower. Kettle, hairdryer and towel provided. Bring your own toiletries and sliders for the mouldy shower sealant. Does the job - it's a bed, shower, loo and the door locks.

Its £35 a room and its got a locked door. 5 mins from train, few mins walk to everywhere I needed to be. If you want immaculate, the Holiday Inn is 2 mins away and 4/5 times the price. Slept on top of bed, not in it. Not a fan of reception area stinking of smoke but its not my hotel.

Quiet hotel near favourite bars. The owner was friendly enough. It was near our favourite bars and had a decent breakfast over the road. We had no bother with noise all week. We kept the room clean. It was very good value for a double room and as I said a quiet atmosphere.

Wouldn't let me give a true rating, had to leave a 1 star,we didnt feel safe in this hotel, the rooms were mouldy, smelt terrible, beds were old and filthy, door lock was hold on with paper, light switch was held together with electric tape, would suggest you find another hotel and avoid at all cost,we stayed in the hotel for 10mins and left after finding another hotel we would feel safe in,left the keys in box on the friday and owner didnt even get in touch to see why we didnt stay, really bad customer care,im trying to get a refund for stay

Disgusting poor hygiene. Rooms filthy. Blackpool council should shut this trash down.

Unfortunately this hotel was of a poor standard. The room and bathroom had mold. The towels had been used, they were still damp and the flat bed sheet had blood on it. I have never stayed in such poor accommodation

Dirty is the best description. Not bothered about the old furniture or even the smashed telly. But it would be nice to have curtains on the window and a clean room. The window sills and skirting boards were thick with dirt. The shower was so bad my granddaughter refused to go in it. The bed bases had some sort of water mark all the way round them like they had been left outside for a length of time. Although the bedding looked clean the mattresses did not and they had no protectors on them There were 3 of us sharing a room and we had one towel, when I went to reception for more I was given a hand towel and a larger towel that had definitely not been washed from the previous user. We booked a total of 5 rooms for family and they were all the same. Thank god we were only staying 1 night for New year's Eve so we didn't get back to the room until 2 in the morning and we were out of that dump for 8 in the morning. Never ever again
